Best brunch in NYC, great staff and incredible service!
Beach cafe is a good neighborhood brunch spot. Their french toast was on point. I had been craving a sweet brunch all week so this was a perfect fix for me. Their brunch also allows for three cocktails. Basic brunch cocktails - no complaints. Their outdoor space have heaters but are on the side of the building so could be cold for those sitting closer to the road. We went on a rather warm winter day, but embrace for the cold if you are visiting on a cold winter day. Amazing service!
Good location and design restaurant. I have ordered chicken breast with mixed greens. Chicken was very tasty and sauce made even better taste for salad that came with. I saw they are popular with burgers as well.
We ordered Stella and Blue point lager draft beers, Zucchini Fritti and Linguini with White Clam Sauce. The drinks were average. I did not like the taste of Stella much. Zucchini Fritti were a bit oily but very tasty. The best was the Linguini. The clams were well cooked and the Linguini had a fine taste of clam sauce. And this place has a good service too. Doing well during COVID-19, they have tables setup outside the restaurant and well distant from each other.
The weekend brunch + booze deal for $25 is ??
Drinks were great but the food was just ok.
Friendly place from my past.
It’s an excellent local cafe with good food, helpful staff and a nice vibe. The portions are a bit small for the slightly-above-average prices though, which keeps this from being an every time go to.
I was surprised by the delicious flavors, better than I expected!
Came for brunch but the person at the front wouldn’t seat us because one of us had a Starbucks coffee..... As if I wasn’t going to order more coffee or alcohol from them.... We left And didn’t sit because that’s just ridiculous....
Food is gud but the sitting arrangements is wat I dislike not jus here in all restaurants which is the new norm for now.
Simple food and out of this world!! A bit expensive but for a good deal!
Superb environment and very personal service. The food was fresh and delicious. Will surely recommend this restaurant to friends. Fair rates and generous meals. Great work.
The Beach Burger was by far the best burger I had. Cooked medium with a slightly toasted bun and a side of fries, best thing I had in a while. Definitely will go back for more!
Warm wine, rather indifferent dishes with overcooked pasta. The dessert was tiny. Usual upper East Side prices.
Love it food was fresh and delicious
This place was simplicity at its best. The food was so clean and well seasoned. They partitioned outdoor seating w plastic barriers albeit a little close. The food was so simple it was perfect. I’d go back.
Great classic place to never miss. Worth the time spent.
Such a sweet spot on the corner of the bustling avenue. Owner Dave is always in the job, super friendly and accommodating. Don’t Tell Anyone!!! :)
Great food and service! They have cute partitions to separate the tables so you feel safer
The food was good. The was enough space to dine without feeling like people are on top of you. The drinks are ok. The service is very fast .
Mediocre food
Brunch is pretty good and staff is very friendly!
Great food. Friendly atmosphere!
Great food. Service was pretty decent as well.
At the moment you step in this place the personel give you an excellent feeling. Very courteous crew, it is a good restaurant to pass time with friends or with your date. delicious cooking, qualified chef de cuisine, modest price and nice service. Highly recommended.
Loved Everything about it.
?Even though my boyfriend doesn’t like their food, I used to get takeout from here all the time, but no more. Now. Get this! It’s called Beach Cafe. Half of the tables, because of Covid, are outside and literally in the street, amongst fumes from cars and the smell of tar. Today it’s 88 degrees outside, feels like 96. Humid. My friend and i show up to eat at one of their outside tables in the middle of this awful heat to support a local restaurant. Supporting local in this time is important. But. They refused to seat us because my friend is in a tank top! We pointed out a woman seating who was wearing a tank top. They said that they could offer my friend a shirt to wear. Unbelievable. The heat. The street seating. ITS CALLED BEACH CAFE!!!! But no beach attire at beach cafe. No they want us in a full shirt in order to support their business while we risk our lives dining out in the middle of the pandemic. Don’t think restaurants are closing because of covid, it’s unreasonable and just absolutely bad customer service.
I've eaten here for years. Service friendly and professional. Food delicious. Best brunch on the upper east side.
Outdoor seating was very nice. Good service. Good food and drinks at decent prices. Good menu variety. I did not experience anything negative and luckily there were no loud/crying children.
I was looking forward to a nice summer afternoon lunch with a friend, only to be abruptly told by wait staff that there was a “dress code” policy for lunch. Seeing that it was the middle of the day, scorching hot weather and outside dining, I thought this must be an inside joke. When pressed for accuracy, I was abruptly told that no summer attire (I was wearing shorts and a nice, trendy tank top) was allowed for dining. I glanced over and saw several female customers wearing summer-appropriate wear, including sleeveless tank tops (at a venue called BEACH CAFE!!! The irony!). When I pointed that out, I was told that it was different for female customers. To which I responded, “am I experiencing male discrimination?”. Needless to say, I was not welcome nor accommodated due to their unannounced, unpublished “dress code” and took my lunch business elsewhere. You’d think that given the current economic climate and the physical heat/outdoor dining, this “policy” would not be in place. Oh well, I won’t be going back to this establishment ever again!
We accidentally stumbled to this place during the morning. Everything else was closed or did not have a shaded table outside. So this place had two things going for it 1. It had great seating. 2. The service was good, as expected. However, we browsed their menu and were shocked at the awful policies in place - If you want to share a plate you will need to pay $5 extra and if you go for the brunch you may not share your drinks at the table. This to me right out of the box screamed that the place does not place the experience at their establishment front and center. Someone should really tell the place that happy customers will actually spend more... Still, the place being rather packed (and due to lack of alternatives) I figured that the food would for sure make up for the kindergarten rules. Oh my was I wrong! We took the simplest option on the menu - avocado toast with poached eggs with a side of potatoes. I can’t state these claims as facts as I haven’t visited the kitchen, but this is how it tasted - The “bread” at the bottom of the eggs reminded me of the lowest grade biscuit you could buy at the supermarket. Lacked any air inside or a crunch of a toast. The potatoes were in room temperature and felt like they sat in their oil from yesterday. The sauce on top, which I presume was supposed to be hollandaise sauce, was so yellow, like cheddar cheese instead of a regular white-yellow cream, which made it feel and taste industrial. I really hoped to have a good experience in this cafe, but unfortunately I found myself in an overpriced, underwhelming experience which seems to enjoy its location and a clientele that is willing to be policed by obsurd rules. I hope other people have a good time there but I cannot recommend this place in any way.
Earring on The street side in Manhattan means you keep one eye on the food and one eye on the drivers making the turn! :). But a nice day outside and a quick lunch was an easy break and worth the stop. Attentive service!
Beach cafe is a very cute place at the upper east side in Manhattan. The vibes are very casual . We had a very tasty brunch , fried eggs with tortilla bread , I asked to make mine vegetarian and they made it possible. The drinks and food were very well made. Staff are very friendly too. I recommend this place
Beach cafe is an great place to people watch while enjoying a nice meal and drink. I love the spicy margaritas, and would definitely recommend it to both long term Upper East Siders as well as those coming for a visit. I will definitely be coming back again!
Margaritas were great, discrimination was less impressive. My wife and I (a lesbian couple), wearing masks (per COVID-19) ordered drinks and an app to-go. Sitting outside the bar, waiting for our food and socially distanced, we were told we "couldn't hang out there" despite at least five other pairs of heteros 'just hangin.' I was also wearing a "no justice no peace" shirt, not sure if the place is homophobic, racist, or both. Sad we gave a local joint our money during this time over more inclusive spots.
I ordered delivery dinner tonight from Beach Cafe and was totally surprised to find a roll of toilet paper and latex gloves also inside the bag. The food was delicious, the delivery very fast and the customer service outstanding. How thoughtful that they thought of their customers during this difficult time. Thank you so much Beach Cafe. I'll certainly be back!
An amazing and generous owner providing for healthcare workers at nearby hospitals during challenging times! Hospital employees were provided with burgers and fries that were made to perfection. Please help to support a business that is doing good for others! I will be back with friends to celebrate good times ahead with a nice glass of Vino!

Cute place... Food was really good.
We went for a show and the music was fantastic! The performance is the only reason for giving the second star. The issue was that my dining partner had to kill a cockroach not once, but twice that crawled onto our table! We informed the waitress before we left as we didn't want to disrupt the performance and she too was horrified.
Victor Nuefield put on an amazing show. Definitely catch the next one in 2 weeks
Went to beach cafe last night which was cabaret night It was a lovely evening. Cozy comfortable setting Food was very good I had grilled scallops with pesto sauce Music was lovely and Dave the owner attentive and accommodating Can’t wait to go back
Great food!!! Super awesome & friendly service by the staff there. Good location, near the subway. Can't go wrong!
Food is OK. Portions are on the smaller side, got the Avocado toast Benedict which has a lot of potential, but they serve it on the smallest piece of English muffin with a touch of Avocado. It's isn't great when you feel they get cheap on your dish
All Good
The atmosphere is warm and the ambiance wonderful.
Nice, quite, not cheap, not fancy, but perfect for a quiet conversation.
Good food and atmosphere. Varied menu. Good service.
Nice older bar. I used to go here when I was much younger, happy to say the place hasn't changed much. Food is very good.
